Day ??

It's been a good long holiday so far, long enough to lose track of which day it is. Last night I spent 30 minutes trying to find the Colts game on Shannon's mom's directtv system, and cursed the 200+ channels before giving up and going to bed. Then this morning I asked Shannon's mom's fiance who won the game and he was like I thought the game was tonight. Then I was like oh that's why I couldn't find it on tv. It was crazy. At least I didn't miss the game. I'm loving the goatee. It's really warm in Phoenix. I'm thinking about jumping in the pool. I'm going to the midnight showing of Avatar with Uncle Jim tonight.

Day eight or something

Breakfast at the father-in-law's. Attended the wedding of Shannon's second cousin. Big breakfast yesterday. Big breakfast today. Watched Meet the Press and the local news. Apparently Sheriff Arpaio is up to some major shenanigans.

Day Six point five

Drank too much at the Christmas party to post last night. Had to wake up at 5:40 for my flight home. Feeling like hell this morning. Shannon said I'm not a joy to be around. I believe her. Vienna-Amsterdam-Chicago-Phoenix. F-

Day Six

My boss noticed the goatee today. I explained that it was my christmas goatee, "only for christmas" I said and laughed nervously. "You're parents will like it" he said. I hope he's right. Here's a picture with Shannon while she's making christmas cookies. One more day of work, one fancy work christmas party, and then a 20 hour trip home.

Day Five

I'm totally addicted to Sons of Anarchy. Its a real low point for me and me TV watching problem. I feel like an old woman who watches soap operas, but I like shows about criminals. Here is a picture with me and Shannon's new blanket. Back to work tomorrow. Only two working days before the trip home.

Day Four

So. Went to dinner with our couple friends and showed off my new blog on my blackberry. I don't think they knew what to say. I ate some yummy lasanga, drank some nice austrian red wine and smoked a cohiba robusto. Not too shabby. Tomorrow is some Catholic holiday in Vienna. I'm glad I'll have a few days more growth before I have to wear the goatee with pride at the firm Christmas party. Not sure what I'll be up to. Maybe some pick-up b-ball in the park if its not drizzling. Shannon will be working on her new blanket project tomorrow. She made a quilt for a friend who had a baby a few months back and now feels obliged to make one for every new baby that comes along. It's a lot of work. This one will be a safari themed blanket with zebras, leopards and elephants. Colfax likes to lay on the new blanket. Shannon is getting irritated with him. She called him an idiot.

Day Three

Heading to work tomorrow so I'll have to trim up the neck. Not incredibly impressed with myself today. This is what some guys look like after one day. Worst case scenario is that my boss doesn't approve. Don't fret I won't go down without a fight. Shannon is back from Africa. She went on a safari and saw a rhinocesaurus. She should be the one with a blog.

Day Two

Some quality growth today. I did a little B-ball shootaround this afternoon, recognizing that I could use a little exercise especially during the high calorie intake holidays. I hope that this blog project doesn't also serve as a record of a ten pound Christmas weight gain. But that said, as I plan out my upcoming days in Arizona I tend to focus on where I'll be eating from day-to-day.

Day One

This is actually with one and half days of growth. The last time I shaved was Thursday Dec. 3rd. If all goes well I'll have a nice looking goatee before I have to shave it for work in the new year. I figure it will be fun to watch my hair grow in the photos. This blog would probably be named My Christmas Beard if'n that were possible. Sadly my cheeks do not grow hair, so My Christmas Goatee it is.

I leave for Phoenix in one week. The wife is away on business until Sunday. I'll probably spend tomorrow reading Cloud Atlas and watching college football. Maybe I'll take a walk somewhere too.
